1933Summer According to Dr. Roberts,. 11Birds of Minnesota.", only one known nest of the Missouri Skylark has been r~oordod for the stateā€¢ a1,though the bird breed~ extensively all over the Red River Valley. A second was fOl.Uld in Pennington County on June 20th of this year by Grimes. On that dnte tho nest contained 1 :f'rosh egg, and when revisited on the 24th it held 5 eggs.
1937SummerOn June IB one newly fledged young was seen awing by Rysgaard and Dr. Risser, near Warren.
1961SummerSeen by Avifaunal Club members on 17 June, 4 and 15 July near Felton. Several males, singing about 200 feet in the air, dropped occassionally to meet females some 20 feet in the air. Although no nests were found, these exchanges of food would seem to indicate breeding.
1961FallRichard Oehlenschlager collected one specimen five ' miles east of Nimrod, Wadena County on 22 Sep. This locality is on the very fringe of the Boreal-coniferous zone. Bombycillidae: Both species were reported.

1994Summer Single bird observed on 6/25 at Felton Prairie in Clay Co. BM/CG.
1995Spring One heard singing 5/31 Polk MCBS.
1995Summer Singing bird observed on 6/1 near Tympanuchus WMA in Polk County MCBS (same individual reported in spring).
1998Fall One seen and heard 10/24–25 Wilkin (Rothsay WMA) KE et al. was record late for Minnesota (The Loon 71:53–54).
2001Fall One found 9/21 Dakota (Resurrection Cemetery) †TAT was relocated the next morning †ADS. One of the very few Minnesota records of this species away from western regions.
2003Spring One seen 5/1 Stevens (Pomme de Terre City Park in Morris) †JMP.
2004Fall Third fall report in 12 years and one of the very few to be photographed in the state in recent decades; discovered at Red Rock Prairie 10/10 Cottonwood †RMD, †JGW et al. and refound 10/11 ph. †PHS.
2006Fall Fourth fall report in 14 years: 9/17 St. Louis (Duluth Twp., near Homestead Rd and Old North Shore Rd) †JCG, JGr. It could not be refound later that day.
2011Spring
2012Summer1 Reported 6/8–29 Clay (Felton Prairie) BGi et al. (VENT); refound by m.ob., including †JoS, †PCC, ph. BU, †DAB (The Loon 85:43–44).
2013Fall1 First fall record since 2006: 10/18–19 Cottonwood †KRE, †LS, ph. DBM, m.ob. Second county record, found by the Minnesota Birding Weekends group at Rock Ridge Prairie S.N.A. on 10/18, and relocated at the same location on the following day.
2016Fall1 Second fall record since 2006: 10/5 Jackson (Heron Lake W.M.A.) †DAk.
 
 Former summer resident northwest. Last breeding record 1988. Recorded in 4 of the last 10 years, most recently 2013. State designation: Endangered.
